Those with problems in menstruation should be more concerned for something more serious if there is greater disruption in their monthly periods. Also, many patients with hirsutism are overweight. This worsens the underlying androgen excess and insulin resistance and makes treatment ineffective. In really severe overweight problems, additional skin problems like thickening and velvety skin discoloration may also appear.

Study to probe whether acne drug can slow MS
Researchers in Calgary are preparing to begin a new study to see whether a commonly available acne medication could help delay the crippling effects of multiple sclerosis. The medication, called minocycline, has been available for over 30 years. If it's proven effective in delaying the progress of MS, it could offer an inexpensive option for the treatment of early stages of the disease. A small study on 10 patients a few years ago yielded promising results. Now, clinical researchers in 14 Canadian centres will be taking an in-depth look at the drug in a $4-million, two-year study funded by the MS Society of Canada. Minocycline is a prescription antibiotic used to control acne by killing the germs that prompt outbreaks.

Police are seeking witnesses to the abduction of a young woman as she walked along Chester Street West between the Christchurch District Court Building and the western side of Victoria Square. Between 10 and 10.30am on Thursday the 1st of November 2007 . The victim was walking east along Chester Street West. She was grabbed by two males and dragged behind a hedge area at the end of Chester Street West and indecently assaulted. .
